Bachelor Theses

Are you interested in designing and analysing light-weight structures and applying what you’ve learned in mechanics to real engineering problems? In my Bachelor projects, you will work on challenging and hands-on topics at the intersection of structural mechanics, numerical modelling, and engineering design. Many of the projects I supervise are connected to student teams, where your Bachelor project can directly contribute to the design and analysis of real structures used in competitions or prototypes. Other projects are more closely linked to my research, allowing you to explore composite materials, additive manufacturinb, or high perfromance computing in more depth. An overview of the projects that are currently available can be found here.

How to apply?

There are two ways to start a Bachelor project with me.

Option 1 – Choose a project from the list
You can enrol for a Bachelor project in the section Mechanics of Materials. A few weeks before the start of your project, you will be have the posilibilty to choose a project from the list of available projects. I always contribute several projects to this list, so there are usually multiple options to choose from.
Option 2 – Bring your own idea
Do you already have a cool project idea? For example, are you active in a student team and want to turn part of that work into a Bachelor project? Then you are very welcome to contact me directly. We can discuss your idea, refine the scope, and look at what is needed to turn it into an official Bachelor project.
